  • Labrador’s real name is Labrador retriever. Labrador is known as the most popular dog in America. The Labrador breed has a very cute appearance and a wonderful character.   • The Labrador retriever appeared on Canada’s Newfoundland Island and was originally referred to as St John’s dog. Appearing in the 1700s, Labrador was helping local fishermen to attract fishing nets. Later, foreigners who came to the island noticed the wonderful features of these dogs and British hunters took several Labrador dogs to England to use them as hunting dogs. Labrador retriever was recognized as a separate breed in 1903.
