Fennec Fox

The Fennec Fox is a very small animal. It is a crepuscular fox which means that they are more active during twilight. This fox lives in the Sahara, the Sinai Peninsula and the Arabian Desert. The main and unique feature of this fox is its large ears. The ears are larger than the face and also in proportion to the body. These ears are essential to keep away the heat as they usually lives in hot areas.

The body features of this fox is adaptable to the dry and hot environments of the deserts. It has a thick fur coat and large ears are all supportive of the hot weather.

The main and active senses of this fox are the eyes and ears. It uses its ears for hearing the movement of any of its prey so that it can attack.


The Fennec Fox can live up to 14 years.

Eagle owl, jackals and big mammals usually feed upon this fox.
